Wow. This is an amazing acoustic rendition of SHM's "Save the World Tonight."You'd be hard pressed to find a better cover of this song-- a brilliant effort from an up-and-coming talent.
I met Collin last month backstage at a Sam Adams concert and we chopped it up for a while. He's a cool dude and I wish nothing but the best for him. I sincerely hope he releases more of these. Well done.

Chiddy Bang - Peanut Butter & Swelly [Trailer] from illRoots.com on Vimeo.
Chiddy Bang are coming out with another mixtape. The Swelly Express is one of my favorite mixtapes of all time. Instant Classic. They are a prime example of what a good mixtape can do for an artist. It wasn't even like every blog was picking it up either. I remember I found it on Pretty Much Amazing and couldn't believe they had finally dropped a mixtape. And it was dope.
Side note: Chiddy Bang performed at Colby in January of 2009 right when they made "Opposite of Adults" and I had been wondering if/when they were going to drop a mixtape. So it surprised me when I came across it when I was casually browsing the internet.
So anyway, I immediately blogged about it because I thought it was something people should listen to. Fast forward a few months: they ink a major deal with EMI, sign with NUE Agency, go on an international tour, release Air Swell, get featured on Need For Speed and Taco Bell commercials, and break the rap world record for longest freestyle. Wow. Try saying that in one breathe. Needless to say, it's been a wild ride for Noah and Chiddy. Glad to have been part of it for a little while.
Peanut Butter & Swelly is just the next step in what will hopefully be a long and prosperous career in this crazy industry. May 27. Save the date.
The talented Alexandra Stewart does a beautiful cover of James Blake's song. I can't wait to hear what else she's got. She's got such a soft and soothing voice, kind of like if Norah Jones and Dido were to combine their voices. I'm in love.
My brothers Sonny, Mik, Mendoza, and Ralph took a little trip down to New Jersey to perform at Bamboozle a few weeks ago. Per usual, they rocked it. Here's the footage courtesy of my boy Elan at FTS Creative. #BreakfastTalk
I can't front. However ignorant this song might be, I still rock with it. I'm taking it for what it is. Nothing more, nothing less.
I don't know much about Kreayshawn other than she was a UC Berkeley film student and has directed videos for Lil' B and Soulja Boy. Nonetheless, I must admit her swag is quite unique. People might look at her and scoff, but I respect it because she owns it.
PS. I sincerely hope Ke$ha, Dev, Pac Div, The Cool Kids, and Dom Kennedy jump on this remix. How dope would that be?
Complex Sneaker Invasion from Inside The Sneaker Box on Vimeo.
Inside the Sneaker Box caught up with one of my mentors over at Complex Magazine, Joe La Puma, and got a rare inside look at the Complex offices. Joe and Russ Bengtston show off some pretty sweet kicks, including the coldest baseball cleats you'll ever see, the Nike LBJ South Beach, and my favorite sneakers of all time, the Jordan III Black/Cement. One day I'll have a sneaker game like Joe and Russ. One day.
Maestro Knows - Special Edition (Mike Posner) from Maestro Knows on Vimeo.
Maestro hangs out with Mike Posner for a couple days in LA and NJ. Excited to hear new original stuff from Pose. I'm guessing he'll be releasing a handful of covers, which we get sneak peek at towards the end, and by the end of the year we'll get his sophomore release.
