Tim Burton is very forward and creative in the way he creates film. The way in which he translates his thoughts and imagination onto the screen is unparalleled. No one is really on his level right now. Other directors play with colors a bit (e.g. Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez for Sin City, Henry Selick for Nightmare Before Christmas, and Zack Snyder for 300), but in my opinion Tim Burton has everyone beat when it comes to visual presentation and aesthetics. It's quite amazing how today's technology can merge real live actors and CG animation to produce something so wild. It boggles my mind. The screen shots above can legitimately pass for fine art. Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland is slated for a March 2010 release.
